Personal Goals

One of the core constructs in social cognitive career theory (Lent, Brown, & Hackett, 1996), personal goals are the will to perform a particular activity or achieve a particular outcome (see Bandura, 1986). Personal goals serve as the gyroscope of behavior: they "organize, guide, and sustain" and individual's activity.
