Dictionary of Vocational Psychology

Ageism

Differential actions taken toward individuals as a function of their age. May be classified into intentional and unintentional ageism. The U.S. Federal goverment prohibits descrimination in vocational and other contexts against individuals above a certain age (typically age 40) through the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).
