Poems by Andrew D. Carson
E
I direct the herd and it does as I wish,
At the head of the group I lead the way,
I smell the air and judge its promise,
Take my step and all others follow.
Espying paths and weighing choices,
Attuned to my fellows, I know their needs,
A fragile calculus that with mere nudge
Trips others to action, dominoes in a line.
Seeking the power that pulls at all hearts,
The true North of human compass,
I align my goals and it,
So that but reminding others serves to guide.
All facts and theories would come to naught,
Were there not will to make them real,
So persuasion is my game,
My dreams contagious, driving the world.
